TheConnexion is a Scottish Charity, number SC040531.

The Connexion is a Charitable Trust, administered by a board of Trustees.

The Trust shall operate within Ward 6 of Fife Council plus North Queensferry; which is also the area covered by Forth Churches Parish Grouping

The Trustees shall operate the trust exclusively for charitable purposes and for the benefit of the public. In particular:

• to advance the education, citizenship and community development of young people
• to promote the benefit of young people with local council, voluntary organisations and inhabitants
• to advance education and to provide or assist in the provision of facilities, in the interest of social welfare for recreation and other leisure-time to improve quality of life.

The Trustees shall do this through the development and promotion of plans or schemes, either by itself or in co-operation with Churches, Community Councils, Police, Councils, Schools, Youth Groups and other community groups.

The aim of such projects being

• the encouragement and development amongst such young people of a spirit of democracy, responsibility, citizenship and mutual respect within the community
• the empowering, promoting of self esteem, and social, spiritual and community education of such young people; including educating them to enable them to make wise lifestyle choices
• mobilising them to participate in community transforming projects;
• all of which should be developed by working together with young people from the earliest stage of the project;
• the purchase, placement and creation of facilities for encouragement of social welfare, recreation and other leisure-time occupation of such young people,
• including, but not limited to the acquisition, restoration, fitting out and maintenance of suitable premises for use as a staffed drop-in centre or other similar safe haven for them;

The Trustees have sole discretion for the operation of the Trust, and shall not be obligated to provide explanation of decisions to anyone or group other than in accordance with its constitution

Although the Trust is based in the Christian faith and principles, it is not biased in the selection of the young people with whom it shall work, and shall interact with young people of all faiths, or of none.
