Youth forum
Develop a forum for young people to participate in decision making for theConnexion.
As young people are not permitted on charity board of management, there will be provision for the Youth Forum to be a ‘standing committee’ to the board. The form will be as determined by young people themselves, but may involve elections to ensure democratic representation.

Target trusts and funders for resources to support a paid youth worker
Drop in cafe
A safe place for young people to 'hang-out’ comes high on the wish list from our survey. Perhaps coupled with an internet café, provided sufficiently robust safeguards can be in place.
The 'blue-light’ connexion
The police have supported Blue-Light nationally. This is a service provided by volunteers from uniform services for the benefit of young people. Following the same ‘safe-place’ principle, everyone going in to the disco is searched for alcohol, drugs and weapons, and given a breath test. During the disco, soft drinks and snacks are widely available and a number of representatives from approved organisations and charities are in attendance for advice, guidance or counselling as required. All at the instigation of the youngsters. There is no compulsion.
